Ekaterinburg is an old city with an interesting history and many stories to tell. There are many historic old buildings and unique places. Ekaterinburg is known as the city, where the last Russian tsar and his family were executed in 1918. Guests of the city can see with their own eyes this tragic place, ex-site of Ipatyev House (a place of Romanovs imprisonment and brutal murder) that was turned into gorgeous Cathedral on the Blood. Romanovs' bodies were buried not far from Ekaterinburg. Now there is a unique wooden monastery complex Holy Majestic Martyrs at Ganya’s Pit.


There are a few more unique historic places close to Ekaterinburg. Ural Falling Tower in Nevynaks and 405 years old town of Verhoturye with 40 churches, called "The Gates to Siberia". The city stands on the border between Europe and Asia, you need just to step to visit another part of the world.
